Cellist, Evan Drachman and pianist Richard Dowling will perform a classical music concert at the First Baptist Church sanctuary in Junction, Texas, on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.

Presented by The Piatigorsky Foundation, this event brings world-class artistry to the local community. Both musicians are highly accomplished figures in the classical music world.

Evan Drachman Cellist is the Founder and Artistic Director of The Piatigorsky Foundation, an organization named after his grandfather, the legendary cellist Gregor Piatigorsky. Drachman is known for his ability to make the cello imitate the human singing voice and tell a story through his performance.

Mr. Drachman spends much of his time performing recitals, concerti and chamber music in the United States and abroad.  As Artistic Director of The Piatigorsky Foundation, he has become one of this country’s most respected authorities on the presentation of live classical music to diverse audiences.  The Foundation’s mission is to make live classical music a part of the fabric of everyday life for underserved communities throughout the United States.  The organization is named for Mr. Drachman’s grandfather, cellist Gregor Piatigorsky.

A renowned Steinway Artist, Dowling has been praised by The New York Times as an "especially impressive fine pianist". He has performed multiple sold-out recitals at Carnegie Hall and frequently showcases works ranging from Chopin to ragtime and early jazz.

The two artists have a long history of collaboration, having recorded multiple albums together, including A Frog He Went a Courting (1999), Infinity (2004), and Romance and Revelation.

The hour long concert is free to the public and will be followed by a reception in the First Baptist Church Fellowship where audience members can meet the artists. Traditionally this event is held annually the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
